OpenML announcementOpenML, which plans to be a multiplatform media layer, similar to the functionality of Microsoft's DirectX. Several Large companies have formed the Khronos Grouparchive.org which has recently brought their proposal to the public. The companies include 3dfx, 3Dlabs, ATI, Compaq, Discreet, Evans & Sutherland, IBM, Intel, S3, and SGI. Their press release is available herearchive.org
