LCDB: New Glide DRI Release (printable)

New Glide DRI Release Joseph Kain of 3Dfx archive.org sent out an email today. The email is to announce new glide release for the XFree86 archive.org 4.0 prerelease DRI based drivers. The email message can be read by clicking above.

There is a new Glide releases for Voodoo Banshee and Voodoo3 available. This Glide release is for use with the XFree86 4.0 prerelease DRI based drivers. These drivers should be used in conjunction with XFree86 3.9.18 (provided). These drivers are current experimental and in prerelease. Note these drivers will still not work with Unreal Tournament, Myth2, Quake2 or other Glide and Mesa2x based applications. If you want to drivers with full compatibility do no use these prerelease drivers.

This new release is based on XFree86 3.9.18 has numerous bugfixes and new features over the previous binary release based on XFree86 3.9.16. This release is a cantidate for final release, it is being made available for testing and bug finding purposes.

The files tdfx_dir-3.9.18-1.i386.rpm, tdfx_dm-0.8.5.src.rpm, and Glide_V3-DRI-3.10-4.i386.rpm are now available from: http://linux.3dfx.com/open_source/download/voodoo3_banshee_dri.htm archive.org

Please follow the instructions on the above pages to install these packages.

Again note that this release does NOT work with Glide applications or Applications that are linked against older revision of Mesa.
