The future of GNOME

At a presentation given at Linux.conf.au recently, the future of the GNOME desktop environment was discussed.
The article which can be found herearchive.org explains how version releases 1.4 and 2.0 of GNOME are already being looked at. While it is all just talk right now, its interesting to see in what direction the GNOME team is looking and what we can expect to come.
