RealNetworks is the provider of a relatively new technology that allows continuously live streams of audio and video, to be transmitted over the TCP protocol, and Internet. RealServer 7.0 can be setup to transmit audio and video directly from radio and television stations, as well as digital video cameras. In order to utilize this fast growing technology one must have the RealPlayer also provided by RealNetworks. RealPlayer supports audio and video as well as 18 additional media file formats, such as JPEG and Flash from Macromedia.
