Linux game announcement
Following up on their call for Linux game programmers, Three Axis Interactive has announced a port of Brian Greenstone's visually appealing
game Nanosaur to Linux.

This is interesting because it's the first major Unix game thus far to make use of the Quesa libraries (Quesa is an open source, reverse-engineered port of Apple's excellent but probably abandoned-by-them high level 3D API). The press release mentions that the port will be released under the original "charityware" licence. No info on whether a multiplayer networked option might be added, as with past Mac-to-Linux ports like Maelstrom.
