Job Search & Self-Marketing Strategies with an Attitude
Okay, we all know that no job is perfect, but some are more perfect than others. Still, with so many lousy work environments out there, how do you find the one that fits you?
We'll talk about practical ways to get a grip on what you want to do so you can focus on doing that. (You'd be surprised how many people know what they DON'T want to do, but don't know what they DO want to do!) We'll have articles and tools to help you make a list of your skills and experience so you have a basis to build on. We'll also talk about how to present your qualifications and experience in the best way possible without (now this is important) I say, without lying or even exaggerating, since that tends to trip you up badly in interviews.
Resume writers make money because most of us usually don't know where to start, or don't seem to get good results when we do it ourselves. Some resume writers can claim up to $500.00US for compiling a resume, and sometimes, it's worth it. Companies have been built on nothing more than training people to fill out applications and do job interviews correctly. We hope, with this series, to undercut them just a bit and put some of their proven ideas out here to help you get what you deserve: a job that doesn't suck.
See, when you get right down to it, it's all about you: what you can do, how well you can do it, and possibly most important, how much you like doing it.
