What's this all about?
Here at jobs.linux.com, the staff put their heads together to try and think of how we could offer the best features for you, our visitors. After tossing around ideas, we thought, "Who better to decide what you need than you yourself?"
Several of our volunteers have been in the job force for many years, and, among other things, have even changed careers quite a few times. We've seem the problems of lack of formal education, being seen as overqualified, trying to change direction, and even deciding what jobs to apply for. For this reason, we'll be here to try to help you over the bumps in the road.
So who are we? Well, we've got experience ranging from military to aviation to systems administrator, network admin, and even landscaping, photography and resume writing, among other things. Some of us have even worked as secretaries, office managers, and counter clerks at McDonalds, and lived to tell the tale. Our education ranges from high school to Graduate school to flunking out of college and eventually making it through. We've had our ups and downs in various job markets, and over the years, have picked up a little knowledge on a lot of job searching and employment topics. We can tell you what's worked for us, or just sympathize over a bad situation.
So feel free to drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask those trying questions about moving out, moving up, or moving on in the job market. Having trouble with your existing job? Happens all the time. Tell us about it and we'll try to see what we can figure out for you. Having problems getting a job? That's fair game too. We'll try to answer as many as we can in this section. The sooner you write in, the sooner we can get started. Remember, this section is for you -- your trials and tribulations and maybe even triumphs. We look forward to hearing from you!
