Compaq and Samsung Will Invest $500 Million in Alpha
Compaq announced Monday that along with Samsung, they will be investing $500 million in Alpha Processor Inc. (API). "The three signed a memorandum of understanding that will result in a $500 million combined investment to advance Alpha markets, including the segment using the Linux operating system, the companies said Monday in a joint statement." This is a good move for Alpha. It is a solid architecture and the fact that they are so involved in the Linux movement, it would be a shame to see them fall.
