Mission Critical Linux today announced the availability of their cutting edge Secure Service Technology (TM) (SST), the first solution in the industry that securely harnesses the power of the Internet to provide real-time management of mission critical environments. The SST complements Mission Critical Linux's family of system analysis tools by enabling engineers to remotely access clients' systems to perform all the necessary tasks to monitor, diagnose and maintain their systems. The SST is truly a unique technology that does not exist today under any operating environment.
This solution addresses the challenges faced by organizations needing an immediate and cost effective resolution to system problems. When clients' computing environments experience performance degradation or debilitating system downtime, Mission Critical Linux engineers use SST to quickly gather system data, analyze the cause of the problem, design and deliver solutions to their clients. Traditionally, this problem resolution happens through expensive on-site visits by a technician, or through time-intensive, remote solutions such as phone and e-mail.
Mission Critical Linux developed SST to help clients resolve any system problems 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. SST may be used to trigger customized alerts in response to system anomalies, such as degraded performance or hardware errors. The alerts may be programmed to issue real-time notification to the support staff at Mission Critical Linux and its clients. SST provides the ability for Mission Critical Linux's application and system partners to integrate their existing diagnostic and management tools into this secure service infrastructure, delivering a total solution to clients.
Using 128-bit encryption and VeriSign's digital certificates, SST provides the same high-level of security that Fortune 1000 companies use today when transmitting the most sensitive data over the Internet. Further, SST uses multilevel authentication and authorization to safeguard access to clients' environments. Clients maintain complete control over when their systems may be accessed, by whom and the privilege level granted. SST is deployed without requiring clients to open conduits through their corporate firewalls. "The release of the SST continues the innovative work that Mission Critical Linux is doing to advance and support Linux in the enterprise," said Brian Stevens, vice president of Internet strategy at Mission Critical Linux. "With SST and our engineering expertise, Mission Critical Linux will provide quick resolution to system problems, and enable customers with Linux computing environments to operate successfully, 24x7."
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
SST is available today for Mission Critical Linux clients with existing support contracts. Mission Critical Linux annual support contracts start at $10,000. A separate licensing program is also available for channel partners.
