MandrakeSoft today announced that they have chosen Enterprise Management Consulting (EMC) London, UK, to offer phone and email support to UK users of Linux-Mandrake GoldPack 2000.
ALTADENA, Calif., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- MandrakeSoft, publisher of the user-friendly Linux-Mandrake operating system, and partner Bynari International, today announced that they have chosen Enterprise Management Consulting (EMC) London, UK, to offer phone and email support to UK users of Linux-Mandrake GoldPack 2000.
MandrakeSoft will unveil GoldPack 2000 -- the latest version of Linux-Mandrake -- on December 10th. Linux-Mandrake was recognized "Best Linux Product of the Year" this August at LinuxWorld Expo (San Jose, CA). GoldPack 2000, which is designed to be easier to use for Linux newcomers, now features a graphical installation interface and a System Commander.
"Since our flagship product, Linux Mandrake, received the 'Best Product of the Year' award last August, we have expanded our offering to better meet our customer needs internationally," said Fred Bastok, COO of MandrakeSoft. "Enterprise Management Consulting's commercial support track record and excellent client references are unrivaled today. Our agreement with them promises our UK customers complete and high-quality support."
Enterprise Management Consulting specializes in Linux support and consulting. It has been supporting more than 35 commercial Linux packages for users from Scotland to Devon. The company is recognized as the best Linux support specialist in UK.
"The acceptance of Linux within commercial organizations has been rapidly increasing," said Malcolm Macsween, Technical Director of EMC. "With our resources, we can provide efficient commercial support to both the domestic and global operations of UK companies that are using Linux."
"Linux-Mandrake users upgrading to GoldPack 2000 will immediately be impressed by the improved ease of installation," said Daniel Morales, CEO of MandrakeSoft. "And the new X-Windows-based installation program will convince users who were hesitant to use Linux. Now you now can just turn on your computer and immediately use Linux thanks to the automated disk partitioning process."
Linux-Mandrake GoldPack 2000 will be available in the UK mid-December 1999 from Linux resellers.
