AMD Moves Ahead of Intel
Since Intel has now released the new 733MHz Pentium III, it was about time for AMD to one up them again. Now, according to Maximum PC, AMD says that they will have their 750MHz Athlon out by Christmas to retake the title. This puts Intel behind again since they currently don't plan to release their 800MHz until next year. By then AMD will also have out their 800MHz and maybe more. This is good news for consumers since new processors mean lower prices on faster processors sooner. As for Intel and AMD though this is a very hard time. This forces them to release processors sooner then planned and with comperable chips from both companies there isn't a clear winner.
