Basic File Integrity Checking
[SF] In this article, we'll look at one of the steps that can be taken to improve security on an already secured machine. File integrity checking isn't a cure to a security problem per se. Instead, its possible to determine if files on the system have been altered, removed, or added. In the event of a break in, this rapidly decreases the amount of time spent determining what was altered.
